The manufacturing engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting assembly processes. This role ensures efficient, safe, and cost-effective assembly operations while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with engineering specifications.
Design, implement, and improve assembly processes
Develop standard work instructions and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
Identify opportunities for process improvements using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen principles
Reduce cycle time, improve ergonomics, and minimize waste in assembly operations
Provide engineering support to production teams for troubleshooting assembly issues
Collaborate with design engineering to resolve manufacturability concerns
Specify and procure assembly tooling, fixtures, and equipment
Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of assembly tools
Monitor assembly quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and quality
Maintain accurate process documentation, including PFMEA, controls plans and work instructions
Prepare reports on process performance and improvement initiatives
Education- Bachelors degree in engineering
2+ years in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably assembly operations
Strong knowledge of assembly processes and Lean Manufacturing principles
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peoria, IL.
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $55.25/hr.
