Manufacturing Electrical Engineer

This position is for a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer at our Bellevue Iowa manufacturing location. The position will support manufacturing test and other manufacturing aspects. You will be tasked with evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing problems related to design, process and supplier issues. Successful candidates have familiarity with LEAN principles and processes.

What You Will Do:

Provide technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for complex products.

Recommend solid engineering solutions for design tolerance problems and coordinates implementation with Program Office and Design Engineering.

Evaluate and approves test plans and test equipment designs. Selects and orders capital test equipment using sound cost/payback analysis.

Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs. Identify new test approaches that will reduce staffing and capital requirements.

Eliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields. Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action to resolve test failures.

Extensive use and application of standard engineering and manufacturing principles and processes.

Develop solutions to difficult technical problems of broad scope with little guidance from project managers.

Develop, implement and maintain test methods and processes in the manufacture and test of sub-assembly, module, and top level product for new or difficult product lines.

Provide in-depth technical assistance and training support to floor test technicians.

Maintain test documentation in current configuration and oversees accurate change management procedures for all test documents. Resolves conflicts in documentation and process definition.

Develops complete knowledge of test systems and hardware.

Recommend and/or lead producibility projects to reduce support costs.

Analyze test data using statistical process control analysis skills to proactively reduce test flow inhibitors.

Analyze test approach, plans, and processes for cost reduction opportunities.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree.

Manufacturing or Trouble Shooting or Test experience required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience with Root Cause Analysis.

Experience with Lean Sigma principles.

Experience with SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD - 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
