Manufacturing & Design Engineer (Data Cooling Center)

Job Summary: The Manufacturing & Design Engineer is responsible for designing and leading the successful delivery of complex engineering projects and programs for our DCC (data cooling center) business. This role acts as a bridge between customers, engineering, sales, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet business objectives, technical requirements, and budget/timeline constraints.

Primary Job Duties:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define products and create detailed drawings to enable machining, fabrication and assembly
• Set up routers, Bills of Material (BOMs), and item card information in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for new projects
• Interface with other departments to understand requirements, align priorities, define project scope, and manage new projects
• Collaborate with the sales department to prepare cost estimates and routing times for all new DCC projects
• Deliver manufacturing engineering services pertaining to robotic welders, tee drill equipment, auto welders, orbital welders, and fixturing to assist with fabrication, welding and polishing operations, such as design of fixtures and tooling; streamlining the build process; and incorporating automation
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, Gantt charts, dashboards, and other tracking tools to monitor project progress, identify risks/issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• BS degree or higher in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or other relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Ten or more years of experience in mechanical engineering and/or manufacturing engineering
• Experience in design engineering in an industrial setting
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methodologies a plus

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced manufacturing environment. Requires standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. May involve exposure to noise and varying temperatures. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Salary: $80,000/year - $95,000/year
