Job Summary: Responsible for day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department including regulatory compliance, staff supervision, scheduling, and staff training, acts on behalf of the director of pharmacy in his or her absence. Ensure staff accountability with policies and procedures. Responsible for keeping labor costs at or below budget. Assist director in the planning, implementation, and management of the activities of personnel engaged in all aspects of drug use control. Serve as an effective pharmacy liaison to the medical and nursing staffs. To provide patient-focused pharmacy services.
Qualifications: BS or PharmD in pharmacy from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy and current NC pharmacist license required. Masters degree, pharmacy residency or equivalent post graduate pharmacy educational and management experience preferred. Requires five years of pharmacy experience with a minimum of three years of increasingly responsible health care systems pharmacy experience. Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology, procedures, and policies. Considerable ability to communicate effectively with hospital personnel and physicians. Considerable ability to manage and motivate people. Ability to view pharmacy services in health system context and meet customer needs accordingly is required.
