Operations Manager

The Manager of Operations provides strong leadership and supervision to their teams to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of production objectives. They collaborate closely with other team members to oversee daily plant operations. Supervisory responsibilities include managing a team of Operations Supervisors in the Envelope and Pressroom department. Primary duties involve establishing performance standards, mentoring and developing department supervisors, following company policies, collaborating with leaders in the development of budgets and objectives, leading the department in fulfilling internal and external client expectations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of end-products, maintaining sufficient staffing and cross-training, ensuring material flow processes are properly identified and documented, meeting measurement goals including waste reduction, billable hours, utilization improvement, spoilage and rework, identifying and addressing opportunities to improve quality and reduce rework, ensuring compliance with all environmental, safety, and health regulations, modeling and fostering a positive workplace culture, providing constructive and timely performance evaluations for direct reports, coaching and developing direct reports, promoting safety as a number one priority, entering and managing PTO for direct reports, and performing other related duties as applicable or assigned.

Required skills include proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, foundation experience, excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrated strategic thinking, excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of USPS regulations, effectively managing pressure under rapidly fluctuating workloads and deadlines, communicating any risks/issues clearly, escalating issues appropriately, and bilingual skills are a plus.

Education and experience requirements include a high school graduate or equivalent, a business or manufacturing degree, 7+ years of manufacturing/production experience, 3+ years of proven supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing capacity, preferably within the printing, bindery or direct response industry, previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training preferred, and lean manufacturing and/or quality control training preferred.

Physical requirements include the ability to work 8 hours consecutively, ability to provide after-hours support as needed, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, ability to maintain an occasional physical presence on the production floor, standard climate-controlled production environment while on the production floor, exposure to loud noise (PPE is provided), ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 35 pounds as needed.

Salary range for this position is $85,000-$115,000. At IWCO, base pay is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience, along with factors such as role scope and location. Pay is influenced by a variety of factors specific to the position, including market conditions and, in some cases, education, work experience, and certifications.
