Logistics Sales Manager Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
Source, build and maintain a strong network of long-term carriers that enable pre-booking of shipments on repeat lanes.
Coordinate with team members to ensure coverage on all committed shipments.
Obtain and record important carrier data such as truck availability, lane preferences, carrier contacts, and quotes, which can be utilized in moving current or future shipments.
Develop and cultivate relationships with strategic carriers in portfolio.
Negotiate rates using market and historical data that result in win-win outcomes.
Ensure that carriers are given all details related to shipments and possess an understanding of the requirements to be tendered the shipment.
Obtain and communicate carrier options to the Account Manager for consideration.
Collect all required data for approved carriers such as rate confirmations, carrier detail, driver detail, and equipment detail prior to dispatch of carrier to pick up.
Meet or exceed expectations for digital tracking of shipments.
Quickly and professionally resolve issues and problem-solve for situations that may arise along the way.
Stay organized and stay-in-front of all the details until the job is done.
Meet productivity goals, while adhering to instruction and policy.
Demonstrates the ability to consistently pre-book loads according to goal and improve lane profitability through relationship-based rate management.
Understand and apply market data and transportation industry trends.
Maintain reliable attendance according to your schedule and company policy.
Maintain a respectful, positive working relationship with your team.
