Logistics Analyst

The purpose of the Logistics Analyst role is to coordinate, administer, and analyze day-to-day operations of Rehrig Pacifics (RPC) wooden pallet brokerage and direct sales operations. The position is within the Transport Packaging Solutions (TPS) team. TPS sources pallets through RPC operated Retail Service Operations (RSO) locations as well as through third party pallet companies. TPS manages the pickup and delivery of pallets from our customers locations. The position would be responsible for the entire flow of each sale from customer order to invoicing as well as analyzing customer needs and data integrity. Salary: $63,000 depending on experience

Areas of Accountabilities

Provide exceptional customer service

Coordinate scheduling and execution of deliveries and trailer swaps with our customers. This could be within RSO locations or through a third-party pallet company

Ensure a high level of customer service through consistent and timely communication with customers and both internal and external supply resources

Collaborate with Pallet Logistics Manager to address any customer or vendor concerns

Develop close working relationship with Rehrig Freight Services and gain a clear understanding of freight arranged pallet deliveries

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with our customers and suppliers

Accurate and precise administration

Assist in acquiring and setting up new customer and vendor accounts

Work with pallet vendors nationally to negotiate pricing to service accounts

Create accurate sales and purchase orders with Rehrig Pacifics ERP System, JD Edwards (JDE)

See all sales and purchase orders through to completion by confirming and receiving orders in JDE

Regularly gather load data pertaining to whitewood core activities from recycling partners, and accurately generate sales and purchase orders within JD Edwards.

Collaborate with Accounting department to research and resolve any customer or vendor billing issues

Analytics and continuous improvement

Evaluate customer and vendor pricing on a quarterly basis to ensure pricing is competitive with the pallet market

Generate reports through our ERP system and Microsoft Excel to help evaluate profitability, forecasting, and data integrity

Develop recommendations for continuous improvement (process, systems, reporting)

Create, review, and distribute monthly activity reports to customers and management

Knowledge, skills, and experience

Bachelors degree in business administration or a closely related field of study. Minimum two-year associates degree.

Professional experience in business-to-business customer service preferred

Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge required

Experience with JD Edwards or equivalent ERP system highly preferred but not required

Drives results and have excellent customer focus

Excellent communicator (verbal & written) with an ability to summarize and communicate information clearly and timely

Previous experience in pallets, logistics or transportation would be beneficial, however not a requirement

Willingness and ability to travel, however travel will be very limited
