Job Summary:
Join the Digital Fleet & Operations Solutions (DF&OS) team in Cat Digital and play a key supporting role in the delivery of complex digital projects. As a Lead Digital Project Manager, you will assist in planning, organizing, monitoring project activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and timelines are communicated. You'll work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and technical teams to help deliver high-quality products for dealer and customer-facing digital applications.
What You Will Do:
Support day-to-day activities of digital projects, including tracking responsibilities, schedules, and deliverables.
Assist in developing contingency plans for potential risks and reporting deviations to project leadership.
Coordinate communication among project team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
Monitor project milestones and prepare status reports for management, highlighting significant deviations and ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes.
Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to align on project goals and requirements.
Drive project success by organizing and facilitating meetings, documenting outcomes, and following up on action items.
Assist in implementing change control processes and documenting impacts.
Contribute to the preparation and distribution of project documentation and reports.
What You Will Have:
Planning: Tactical, strategic: Extensive knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Project Administration: Extensive knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
IT Project Management: Extensive knowledge of project management; ability to plan, organize, monitor and control IT projects using appropriate technical resources.
IT Project Control and Reporting: Working knowledge of project control and reporting; ability to monitor the vital signs of an IT project while managing its progress and delivery schedule.
Qualifications:
Typically, a college or university degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, analytics, business, or a closely related discipline.
Extensive experience supporting engineering, technical, or digital project teams (agile environment preferred) (typically 8+ years).
Experience with Caterpillar New Product Introduction (NPI / dNPI) processes and tools.
Familiarity with project management concepts, including scheduling, planning, and reporting.
Experience with software development tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar platforms.
Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with diverse teams across a matrixed organization.
Experience with Power BI is a plus.
PMP or Scrum Master certification is desirable but not required.
Previous exposure to agile practices (sprint planning, daily scrums, retrospectives) is preferred.
