Intern - Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Boardwalk is a limited partnership operating in the midstream portion of the natural gas and natural gas liquids industry, providing transportation and storage services for our customers. We are currently looking for an Intern - Facilities Mechanical Engineer for our Houston, TX office.

This Engineering position provides mechanical engineering support to the Facilities Engineering and Construction project teams. Responsibilities will include all phases of mechanical design, testing, and commissioning including reviewing P&IDs, piping drawings, pipe stress, pipe supports, mechanical bill of materials, and engineered equipment, creating and reviewing facility mechanical specifications and procurement data sheets, overseeing field installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment required for facility operation. This position will also be responsible for frequent short term travel (1-3 days) with infrequent long term travel (2-4 weeks with travel home on weekends provided).

Required skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Familiarity with the use of electronic communications, and typical software systems such as Microsoft Office and other design related software.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and willingness to travel to sites and review field installations and construction.

Preferred skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Good communication and public speaking skills
  • Good organization and personal responsibility

Required education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a current Junior or Senior student
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering
