Electrical Engineering Intern

Working out of our corporate headquarters your primary goal as an Electrical Engineering Intern will be to provide valuable support to one or more designated business functions. You will be exposed to and actively participate in projects across various functional areas, allowing you to broaden your skillset and gain hands-on experience. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to expand and enhance your foundational knowledge, complementing your academic studies. Throughout the internship, you will engage and interact with supervisors, team members, project leaders, and other business functions, fostering collaboration and communication skills.

Timeline: Summer 2026 - 12 weeks (late May - early to mid August)

Hours per week: 40 hours per week

Pay: dependent upon year in school

Location: onsite at our headquarters campus in Wauwatosa, WI (no housing stipend or relocation provided)

Projects may include:

  • Assembly line controls systems development
  • Battery testing
  • Electrical Testing
  • Data summaries
  • Generator monitoring support
  • System & component testing development

You will do this by:

  • Supporting functional staff by performing basic and repetitive assignments
  • Participating in a variety of assignments in functional areas
  • Performing specific and limited portions of less complex assignments for higher-level staff

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED/HSED
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering
  • Working experience in/exposure to mechanical engineering preferred
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
  • Good working knowledge of computer software
  • Long-term interest in mechanical engineering
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Possess poise and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving and analysis skills
