The Human Resources Manager is the primary business partner to Bennington's Operations teams providing both strategic direction and tactical execution in a variety of HR areas including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, employee relations, compensation, and training. This position requires a well-rounded Human Resources professional with experience successfully developing positive relationships while being a change agent throughout the organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop assigned direct reports
• Support for managers, supervisors, and employees to provide counsel, coaching and support on HR-related topics and issues in a complex and dynamic manufacturing environment
• Regular cadence meetings with production supervisors and managers to ensure support in all HR needs including staffing, performance, succession planning, development plans, etc.
• Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing data/information and recommending appropriate action plans
• Create personal SMART goals to align with HR strategic planning initiatives, update goals throughout the year
• Recruiting responsibility for assigned office and salaried positions
• Provide HR-level support and oversight of the Master Boat Builder programs (MBB)
• Labor & Employee Relations liaison responsible for monthly reports, surveys, leading focus groups, action planning, etc.
• Manage master production roster that is sent to leadership team weekly and communicate changes as needed
• Plan, oversee, and facilitate employee engagement and appreciation activities, holiday parties, cookouts, etc.
• Facilitate new hire orientations, complete E-Verify process & enter new hires in ADP
• Update and maintain internal communications (North Star News, bulletin boards, monitors, ADP, etc)
• Writes, revises and maintains hourly and salaried job descriptions
• Participate in annual strategic planning including HR long-range planning and organizational & talent review
• Oversee annual office review process, including training of all leaders and in-scope employees
• Ensure proper investigation documentation is complete, enter in case management system, and ensure all appropriate actions and communication are done
• Spend time on the floor weekly to be an HR presence for employees and build relationships
• Provide scheduled and ad hoc reporting to company leadership
Requirements:
4 year degree in Human Resources or similar field
Ability to communicate (verbal/written) professionally with all levels of the organization.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
5+ years of Generalist experience
2+ years managing in a similar environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on commitments.
Other Skills/Abilities:
PHR or SPHR Certification preferred
Strong relationship building skills and the ability to influence decision-makers.
