Create, maintain, and update records, files, and databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agency and state policies.

Job Summary
The HR Specialist is responsible for managing and administering human resources functions within various state agencies in Arkansas. This role ensures that HR policies and procedures are implemented effectively, supporting the recruitment, development, and retention of qualified staff. The position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting job vacancies, screening applications, and coordinating interviews. Support benefits administration, including enrollment, eligibility, and claims processing. Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely and accurate payroll processing. Provide customer service to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits. Assist in the administration of performance management programs. Process requests related to employee leaves of absence, worker's compensation, and other HR-related matters. Ensure compliance with state and federal HR regulations and policies. Prepare HR reports, documentation, and other records as required.
Knowledge and Skills
Comprehensive understanding of HR practices, policies, and procedures. In-depth knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing HR activities. Familiarity with recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes. Awareness of employee benefits programs and administration. Aptitude for maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information. Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in HR management, employee relations, or a related field.
