Human Resources Assistant
General Statement Of Duties:
Responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Team as well as handling various office administration tasks. This is a full time, non-exempt, benefit eligible position.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities:
Supports the function of onboarding new hires to include, but not limited to scheduling appointments, conducting background check appointments, collecting I-9 and all hiring documents, access and input to State websites, manage the clearances of all background checks, and prepares the paperwork necessary to communicate new hire orientation dates. Other duties include:
Complete DMV checks.
Track PPDs and SCRs.
Participates in weekly program meetings to discuss the status of new applicants
Assists during HR orientation: Packets/Forms, ID badges, Time Clock, PayCom Overview
Creates new staff files, and responsible for all HR filing
Assists in group interviews as needed
Assigned to special projects, as needed
Minimum Requirements:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to problem solve and multi-task and work well with little supervision
Excellent computer skills, working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Maintain confidentiality and always handle sensitive information.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma with 3 + years of general office experience.
One year of Human Resource experience is required.
Valid NY State Driver's License.
