Housekeeping Aid- Environmental Service Technician
This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division of a VA Medical Center. This position is under the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor or designee. This position performs both janitorial and custodial services at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas.
- Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, vacuuming carpets and upholstered furniture, emptying waste baskets, cleaning light globes and Venetian blinds, washing walls, windows and ceilings by climbing small ladders, refilling toilet tissue and towel dispensers and moving furniture.
Work Schedule: 3rd Shift, 11:30pm-7:30am, Thursday-Monday
Requirements include:
- Continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing.
- Occasional use of heavy powered cleaning equipment weighing over 50 pounds.
- Considerable dexterity, hand, foot, and eye coordination, and concentration as well as visual acuity.
Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a requirement.
