This important front-facing role provides reception and customer service support for the Minnesota Department of Health, Agriculture, and the Board of Animal Health. It also acts as the receptionist for the Ag/Health Lab Building located next door. This position requires a high level of organization, multi-tasking and may include handling multiple customer interactions occurring at the same time.
Working as the Freeman and Public Health Lab Reception Lead, you will:
Minimum Qualifications
Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person and via email.
Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to complete a variety of legal documents and letters.
Data entry experience sufficient to create database records and update entries in a timely manner.
Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software applications (such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams).

Ability to manage competing priorities and ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work independently but also on a team.
Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and able to provide instruction to others.
Communication skills (written, oral and ability to read) sufficient to answer phones, read correspondence, and write memos using appropriate professional language.
Ability to accomplish tasks thoroughly, with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous customer service experience.
Previous experience researching information, analyzing reports or conveying pertinent information.

Physical Requirements
This position requires occasional moving of file boxes up to 25 lbs. Physical demands include lifting, standing, walking, sitting, pulling, and twisting to perform job duties.
