Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is between $30.00 - $34.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Job Purpose:
We are seeking entry-level Field Technicians to join our team supporting critical electrical infrastructure projects in Virginia.
This is a hands-on role focused on transformer testing and equipment maintenance. Successful candidates will start as apprentices and have opportunities for long-term career growth.
Responsibilities:
Learn and assist with electrical testing and maintenance on power transformers and related equipment
Support transformer testing procedures, including:
Power Factor and Capacitance Testing
Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) Testing
Winding Resistance Measurement
Insulation Resistance Testing
Help with installation and calibration of transformer gauges and accessories
Follow safety standards and assist with accurate documentation of work performed
Travel to assigned sites within Virginia as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
Must have a 2 year degree with electrical theory
Must possess a current and valid driver's license, and be able to maintain a good driving record.
Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must be able to pass a fit for duty exam.
Must be available for regular overnight domestic travel and occasional international travel.
Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
Able and willing to travel up to 75% as needed.
Preferred:
Basic understanding of electrical principles
Familiarity with transformer testing equipment
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
