Facility Operations Night Manager

This position is responsible for the overall management of the staff and operates as the Manager on Duty (MOD) during the night shift. The Facility Operations Night Manager proactively oversees the various functions within the Engineering, Security, Transportation and EVS departments to ensure all guest related issues and needs are anticipated and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

  • Serves as the Manager on Duty (MOD) during the overnight shift as well as ensures all guest and employee related issues/needs are anticipated and resolved in a timely and efficient manner
  • Oversees the operations of the Engineering, Security, Transportation and EVS departments
  • Acts as a resource to team members and patrons when unusual circumstances arise
  • Ensures that there is proper coverage in all areas and redirects staff when needed
  • Responds to external and internal guest questions in a professional manner
  • Services guests and employees and handles customer related issues with composure and professionalism
  • Monitors business demands and makes necessary adjustments

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Keeps abreast of all special events, entertainment and employee activities throughout the property
  • Knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements for promotions
  • Reports department-specific issues to the respective department heads

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or a related technical field
  • Knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems is preferred
  • Five years of related management experience in a high volume, complex casino environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • In lieu of a degree and previously mentioned experience, 8 years of leadership management experience in a related technical field with management background may be considered

Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

  • Strong knowledge of the overall property and gaming floor
  • Ability to identify areas on the gaming floor by slot zone
  • Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment
  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and departmental policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun budget planning and analysis process
  • Effective utilization of the Mohegan Sun evaluation process

Training Requirements:

  • Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Supervisor Training classes
  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun Time and Attendance systems and Manager Self Service systems
  • Fully understands all gaming rules and regulations

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work in a casino environment with smoke, low lighting and loud music and noises
  • Must be able to bend, stand and stretch for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
