Engineering Test Technician

This Engineering Test Technician role focuses on hands-on prototype assembly for high-voltage electrical system testing. The primary focus is lab-based assembly work, building small electromechanical components, and supporting engineering and testing teams with prototype builds. This position requires someone who has electrical testing experience, preferably high voltage, as well as mechanically inclined individual who is comfortable working with small parts and able to follow process flows and basic testing steps. Experience with oscilloscopes or basic test equipment for occasional troubleshooting is beneficial. Dexterity, attention to detail, and comfort working around high-voltage components are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on prototype assembly for high-voltage battery management system components.
• Work primarily in the lab environment assembling small electromechanical parts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the engineering team and testing group.
• Follow established process flows, build instructions, and basic testing steps.
• Handle small components requiring strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Use oscilloscopes or basic test equipment as needed for troubleshooting.
• Support engineers with prototype iterations, adjustments, and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract to hire position based out of Des Plaines, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
