Engineering Technician
You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Engineering Division, Planning Department of Trident Refit Facility, Bangor. Responsibilities include providing and managing the identification, evaluation, and resolution of waterfront welding and allied process problems. You will provide consulting services, technical direction, and work review on production problems. You will prepare and review welding instructions and procedures, determine test specifications, and provide repair direction to support planned and emergent maintenance actions. You will assess technical content and make recommendations to higher authority regarding departure from specifications for structural and welding related process fabrication conditions.
Requirements include demonstrating at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate providing technical direction or work review related to waterfront welding and allied process problems by identifying and analyzing technical design and content irregularities to recommend changes for submarine structure and components repair.
