Engineering Aide

Our Client, an Aerospace and Defense company, is looking for an Engineering Aide for their Orlando, FL location. Responsibilities include testing engineering department designs and fabricating equipment used in the development and manufacture of tactical hardware.

We are seeking early career individuals who will be fabricating electro-mechanical assemblies (and sub-assemblies) to engineering drawings. This sheet metal fabrication technician must be able to read blueprints and create custom metal chassis and determine the metal stretch with respect to the metal @type and bend radius required.

This position will provide the opportunity for the candidate to work as an individual contributor, in a team environment. This would include collaborating with engineers and other members of the fabrication team including other fabricators, drafters, procurement, and quality inspectors.

Daily activity would include not only a fast-paced fabrication environment but it would also include using several computer-based programs that will update job status, quality inspections, and engineering changes. Although sheet metal work will be their primary responsibility, the selected individual may have the opportunity to work CNC machines and lathes.

Requirements:

Experience in sheet metal fabrication environments.

Reading blueprints and creating custom metal chassis.

Determining the metal stretch with respect to the metal @type and bend radius required.

Fabricate test equipment designs from a blueprint of the layout, schematic, bill of material, and engineering practices manual as guidelines.
