Bring your engineering skills to life and join an elite group of engineers supporting a DoD mission at WPAFB in Dayton, OH. Seeking an experienced engineer to analyze RF equipment including discovery of capabilities, vulnerabilities, and development of instrumentation to support test activities. This role emphasizes a deep technical understanding of electronic systems through schematic analysis and circuit-level evaluation to accurately characterize system behavior.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Successful performance across multiple engineering disciplines to include: electronics, electrical, and mechanical systems
Review, verify, and update schematics and design documentation to support analysis, integration, sustainment, and test objectives
Collaborate directly with EW test engineers, software engineers, and mechanical engineering department to support integrated system assessments
Maintain and interpret databases of schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
Skilled in preparing technical reports and presenting findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Create clear engineering documentation that enables repeatability and future development
Support other engineering tasks as assigned as part of a hands on, fast moving - dynamic team
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a cross functional team
Strong communication skills that allow you to explain technical concepts across departments and to external partners
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and support engineering efforts from concept through completion
Mentor and teach junior engineering, test, and mission support team members
Minimum Qualifications
15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
Experience with tools such as OrCAD PCB Designer, schematic capture platforms, and circuit simulation software (SPICE, LTspice, electromagnetic simulators, etc.)
Proficient at MATLAB programming
CLEARANCE: Secret clearance minimum to start
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with advanced security checks
Preferred Requirements
Hands on exposure to analog circuit design including amps, power supplies, filters and signal conditioning
Comfortable working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators
Familiarity with maintaining configuration-controlled engineering documentation
Physical Requirements
Office environment. Capable of working while seated for extended periods of time and staring at/operating computers and monitors.
