Embedded Software Engineer

Working with the Electrical and Systems team, the Embedded Software Engineer develops innovative solutions for off-highway machinery that meet the evolving needs of customers. The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for the following duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex embedded software for off-highway machines.
• Create software that complies with Manitou internal software architecture.
• Start up and commission embedded software systems for prototypes and first production machines.
• Configure production tools.
• Perform tuning of software parameters to achieve desired machine behavior.
• Debug software issues and implement solutions to ensure the highest level of product quality.
• Analyze and tune software parameters to achieve desired machine behavior.
• Participate in software conception meetings with software engineering team.
• Lead technical meetings with internal and/or external representatives.
• Use collaborative tools to describe analysis, track updates, and report progress of development projects to stakeholders.
• Work with a variety of technologies and tools including C/C++, Controller Area Network (CAN) and Local Interconnect Network (LIN), and Ethernet bus communication protocols, J1939, CAN Open, and UDS communication protocols, data processing and acquisition systems, Vector CANalyzer, MATLAB, and Simulink.

Job is based at Manitou Equipment America\'s West Bend, WI headquarters, but employee may work remotely up to two (2) days per week.

Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience as an embedded software engineer designing and developing embedded software for on or off-road machines. Experience must include work with new product development, performance tuning, system diagnostics, mechatronics, C/C++, Controller Area Network (CAN), J1939 protocol, CAN Open protocol, UDS protocol, data processing and acquisition systems, Vector CANalyzer, MATLAB, and Simulink. Alternatively, will accept Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 1 year of experience as an embedded software engineer, designing and developing embedded software for on or off-road machines. Experience must include work with new product development, performance tuning, system diagnostics, mechatronics, C/C++, Controller Area Network (CAN), J1939 protocol, CAN Open protocol, UDS protocol, data processing and acquisition systems, Vector CANalyzer, MATLAB, and Simulink.
