Electrical Engineer

You will serve as an Electrical Engineer in the Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities include providing engineering and planning services for ship design, construction, modification, testing, work control, temporary services, and manufacturing products. You will ensure timely, technically accurate execution of complex design projects, documents or drawing development or planning projects. You will perform engineering studies to determine systems requirements, modifications, repairs or specifications. You will perform day-to-day management, control and direction of the non-nuclear work control and test programs. You will provide services to accomplish troubleshooting, analyzing and resolving technical, administrative and scheduling problems related to assigned work. You will serve as a mentor when other employees need training or coaching in specific areas. You will make investigations aboard ship to obtain information for development of or determine adaptability of working plans.

Requirements include at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer analyzing work package requirements to resolve technical issues or to develop engineered solutions to problems related to ship electrical or electronic systems and components. Education requirements include successful completion of a professional engineering degree or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
