Electrical Engineer

Insight Global is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer for a military and commercial aircraft manufacturing company in East Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in an electrical/control systems role and will have an active secret clearance. This candidate will report into the Control Systems Diagnostics team in the Electrical Subsystems group. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for translating complex control system requirements into robust electrical subsystem and component designs, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with customer and engine-level requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Decompose control system requirements into electrical subsystem and component-level specifications.
  • Derive and validate requirements for control software.
  • Ensure complete and accurate traceability to customer and engine-level requirements.
  • Conduct functional requirement decomposition and validation analysis.
  • Perform technology trade studies to evaluate design alternatives.
  • Drive component design solutions to optimize performance, cost, reliability, and weight.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to refine designs and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Support qualification of components and subsystems with suppliers.
  • Track and report requirement metrics, including validation, verification, and compliance status.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to Engineering Leadership.
  • Develop transient models for sensors, electronic, and electrical components.

Skills and Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or electronic, aerospace systems, or computer science

Experience with control systems, electrical modeling, and supplier collaboration. - Active secret clearance preferred, but ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance required

Experience in Aerospace, Automotive or Manufacturing

Strong analytical skills

Willingness to learn and grow
