Director Electrical Ops IV

It is the responsibility of the Director Electrical Ops IV to provide oversight at a senior level, of all aspects of the electrical department for the region including, but not limited to, office and union personnel, budgets, P&L reports, and event production. Develop and maintain interdepartmental relationships and industry relationships. Act as liaison between Freeman and related unions. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of customer service. Cultivate a proactive safety culture by ensuring strict adherence to all safety policies and regulations, holding self and team fully accountable, regularly communicating and reinforcing safety expectations, and driving continuous improvement in safety practices.

This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Chicago, IL.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Work with manager and supervisor to see that staffing, discipline and training are accomplished.

Oversee proper administration of branch payroll controls. Review and approve union wage increases. Participate in union negotiations as necessary. Act as liaison between unions and Freeman's Electrical Department.

Conduct meetings with department heads to review schedules, implement programs, and coordinate inter-department activities.

Conduct Operations/Strategy meetings with General Foremen, and Supervisors and provide necessary support.

Review short & long-range job planning and assignments with department heads.

Review and implement procedures as necessary to drive efficiencies.

Provide support to all departments with electrical customers and potential electrical customers.

Create and submit proposals as needed.

Maintain relationship with local convention bureau, convention center and hotels.

Approve purchase orders, payables, and credit memos.

Perform necessary work on accounts personally responsible for.

Review and approve travel of all employees according to company travel policy.

Review and analyze job cost sheets per event and weekly payroll reports.

Review and evaluate all entries of P&L, tracking reports, or "Income Statement".

Ensure that department maintains appropriate training.

Prepare accurate prepare annual branch budget and submit to corporate management by deadline.

Prepare capital expenditure list and submit for approval to General Manager.

Oversee inventory controls, and bi-annual inventory counts and submit to corporate management by deadline.

Check insurance reports on a quarterly basis and review all claim reports.

Communicate and reinforce company safety objectives, programs and policies. Ensure the team completes required training and all employees understand their responsibilities with regard to safety.

Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA regulations.

Promptly investigate and document all workplace accidents, near misses, and hazards and implement corrective action as needed.

Lead by example by promoting open communication on safety concerns and ensuring accountability - both personally and within the team - for maintaining a safe work environment.

Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, using data to drive decision-making and corrective actions.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

High school diploma required.

College degree (BA) required and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.

7+ years of industry electrical supervisory experience required.

Experience and understanding accounting systems preferred.

Specific experience with computer systems and web-based systems. Strong knowledge and practical experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Understanding of OSHA requirements.

Proven ability to implement and enforce safety policies, drive compliance with safety regulations, and foster a proactive safety culture resulting in reduced incidents and positive safety results.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

OSHA 30 Certification required.

Safety certifications a plus.

Hiring range of $129,300 - $131,000 based upon experience. This position also qualifies for an Annual Incentive Bonus (AIP)
