Recreational Sports Center Manager

Assists in the administration and management in all operational and programming aspects of the customer service area to include membership, pro shop, informal, and reception control for the Recreational Sports Center. Serves to provide program staff management, facility coverage, and event coverage.

Essential Responsibilities:

Functional supervision of Customer Service staff working in the Rec Center, Clawson, and North Quad. Supervision includes conducting training sessions, leading in-services, and assisting with evaluations.

Serve as Manager on Duty for 2-3 shifts/week. Answer phone calls in Main Office at designated times.

Assist with fitness equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance, including scheduling, training, and documentation.

Schedule and coordinate facility rentals for student organizations and community groups with appropriate staff.

Create/edit forms, coordinate data collection, evaluate usage reports and analyze program data.

Reconcile monthly credit card receipts.

Direct Supervisor: Direct day-to-day work and assignments of 7-10 student staff.

Establishes work processes for others resolve customer membership complaints direct communications with customers regarding memberships.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires six months of coursework or training beyond high school in Business Administration and three years retail experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Receive 1st aid/CPR certification and ServSafe certification within 90 days of employment.

Working Conditions:

Physical effort usually requires considerable walking and standing, and may require some lifting of materials weighing 25 to 50 pounds. Periodic assignments given which entail dealing with unpleasant physical situations.
