As a Cloud Engineer Associate, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of supporting data scientists in developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) proof-of-concepts. You will play a crucial role in growing GDIT's AI capabilities and business opportunities.

Support the architecture, implementation, and optimization of AWS infrastructure to support innovative AI workloads, ensuring high availability and compliance.

Collaborate with data scientists, security teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable cloud environments using best-practice DevSecOps methodologies.

Drive cost optimization, security compliance, and operational excellence through automation in a small, agile team.

Utilize AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda, Bedrock, SageMaker, OpenSearch, ECR, DynamoDB, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation), Linux, Bash/Python scripting, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and more.

The Cloud Engineer Associate must have:

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

Experience: 1+ years of related experience

Technical skills: Must have Linux OS, Bash/Python scripting, CloudFormation, networking, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes; experience with AWS services including IAM, S3, Route53, EC2, CloudWatch, RDS, and VPC.

Role requirements: Motivated and willing to learn; experience working with IAM policies, and security groups; ability to document solutions and procedures using Confluence, including architecture creating diagrams using Draw.io or Visio; communication skills for collaborating with data scientists and security teams; AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Certified Developer Associate) highly desired.
