Job Title

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of engineering work experience in the application of relay protection systems at either the distribution or transmission level.

Relevant Work Experience

Possess strong technical competence, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Flexibility to manage multiple assignments with shifting priorities and deadlines.

Proven analytical abilities.

High regard for personal accountability and a strong commitment to Engineering Excellence.

Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with subordinates, colleagues, and various levels of management.

Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Protection experience, such as in setting relays, performing coordination, fault studies, developing logic, or using related software, preferred.

Familiarity with power system fault analysis, either by hand calculation or software tools, preferred.

Familiarity with NERC Reliability Standards (such as PRC-002, 004, 006 etc.), preferred.

Driver's License Required

Physical Demands

Ability to respond to system emergencies.

Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold.

Ability to work with, and in, the vicinity of high voltage and/or other high-energy systems.

Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday.

Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies.

Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses.

Additional Physical Demands

The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to travel both regionally and continent-wide, to attend conferences, meetings, as needed.
