ASIC/FPGA Verification Engineer

We are building the best SOC team in the world at Lockheed Martin Space's Silicon Solutions team and seeking a future-looking Principal SoC Engineer who is able to cast and realize a compelling vision which will improve speed and efficiency of the verification / validation of ASICs, FPGAs, and SOCs.

As the Principal Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding SoC development for the department, this role:

Supports all aspects of ASIC, FPGA, SoC development, to include architecture, design, and analysis, seeking opportunity to reduce total system cost and schedule.

Partner with a Principal Verification Engineer to architect cohesive approaches to SoC development that reduce cost and schedule.

Provides recommendations for devices, process, tools, suppliers and talent regarding SoCs.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

Mentor others in the best practices of verification and validation.

Continuously assess new tools and methodologies related to SoC development, presenting findings, make recommendations and training others as appropriate.

Drive methodologies and automation to deploy rigorous processes focusing on CI pipelines, quality monitoring and consistent deployment across programs.

Work closely with both design and verification teams to develop cohesive solutions.

Develop business cases that support SoC development improvements.

Support technical reviews, and be able to present to internal and external stakeholders.

Work directly with programs to provide achievable SOC solutions.

To be effective in this role, you will need:

Leverage past experience & lessons learned, practical knowledge, current industry best practices and future-looking R&D.

Employ strong business acumen and soft skills in presenting and/or training for well-conceived technical concepts and recommendations.

12+ years of professional experience.

Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

Experience in the requirements capture, architecture, design and implementation of complex SoCs, based on mission and system CONOPS, use cases and requirements.

Experience with the methodologies and tools used for implementing SoC designs into AMD Versal, Microchip PolarFire SoC and/or fully custom ICs with processors.

Experience in ASIC / FPGA life cycle (architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration & test)

Experience leading projects of multiple engineers, managing schedules. Prioritizing work and actively communicating with internal or external stakeholders

Experience in driving process advancement and program reviews

HDL programming expertise with VHDL, SystemVerilog, and/or Verilog

Experience mentoring and training other engineers

Experience presenting to customers and executive leadership

Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, thus you are a US Citizen.

Desired Skills:

Experience in modern ASIC/FPGA/SoC verification strategies as appropriate, including UVM/SystemVerilog, emulation, formal verification and lab based techniques a plus.

Experience or coursework in hardware emulation (ZeBu, Palladium, etc.)

Experience in microelectronics radiation mitigation techniques and technologies for space applications and space-grade/qualified FPGAs, ASICs and SoCs

Experience in foundry and packaging technologies including wafer, device and package test and assembly.

Experienced in scripting such as Perl, TCL, Python

Experience or knowledge of MS Project, JIRA

Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $170,900 - $301,415. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $196,600 - $340,745. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
