Position Summary
C5T is seeking an Air Mobility Operations / 618 AOC & AFFOR Staff Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a multi-disciplinary action research team working with the Air Force Research Laboratory and Air Mobility Command. This position supports transformation initiatives at AMC Headquarters and contributes to complex organizational research efforts. The SME applies deep operational and staff expertise to ensure research outcomes and innovative solutions are grounded in current DoD and USAF doctrine, concepts, and tactics. This role involves close daily collaboration with senior government civilian and military leaders, contractor teammates, and C5T colleagues. Location: Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Work will primarily take place in government workspaces, with some time in company offices and occasional telework as mission needs allow.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert insight into AMC operational constructs and 618 AOC processes
Advise on MAJCOM Headquarters and AFFOR staff integration
Support enterprise-level organizational research and modernization initiatives
Assess staff coordination mechanisms, recommend practical improvements, and support their implementation
Translate operational challenges into actionable leadership recommendations
Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings and written products
Ensure compliance with security and documentation requirements
Maintain current understanding of DoD, USAF, and AMC doctrine and policies
Participate in research project design, planning, and execution
Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data
Required Qualifications
10+ years of uniformed experience in airlift, air refueling, or global mobility operations
2+ years of MAJCOM-level staff or 618 AOC experience
Strong understanding of AFFOR staff roles and AMC Headquarters processes
Completion of Intermediate or Senior Developmental Education
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to engage senior leaders effectively
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher
Desired Qualifications
Experience with AFFOR staff processes at AMC
Current or recent Headquarters AMC experience, especially within A3
Familiarity with AMC transformation initiatives
Experience with Palantir Foundry or Envision are strongly encouraged to apply.
