Radiology And Ancillary Services Leadership

This position is responsible for leading the operational, clinical, regulatory, and growth strategy for Radiology and Ancillary Services across multiple sites in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. This role oversees day-to-day operations for imaging services, including Ultrasound, X-Ray, Mammography, DEXA, Echocardiography, CT (as applicable/expanded), and future modality additions. Primary responsibilities include: performance oversight, workflow optimization, regulatory compliance (inclusive of MQSA, ACR, and Bureau of Radiation Control), technologist competency and training, patient throughput, and financial management. This leader partners closely with market operations, providers, radiology technologists, and vendor partners to ensure high-quality imaging services, grow referral volume, drive operational efficiency, and support market strategic expansion.

Primary Responsibilities:

Radiology & Ancillary Service Leadership

Provides subject matter expertise and operational oversight for all radiology modalities and ancillary services across assigned sites

Ensures compliance with Federal/State regulations, MQSA, ACR standards, ALARA guidelines, and UHG/Optum policies

Leads initiatives to improve image quality, workflow efficiency, safety, patient access, and referring provider satisfaction

Collaborates with providers and market leadership to expand imaging services and grow volume within and across clinics

Service Growth & Program Expansion

Develops and executes strategic plans to expand imaging service offerings, including modality upgrades, new site integrations, and market growth strategies

Partners with clinical and business development teams to increase referrals, improve scheduling templates, and reduce delays in diagnostic pathways

Leads capital planning and equipment lifecycle management, including vendor negotiations and preventative maintenance schedules

Operational Performance & Quality

Monitors and evaluates imaging performance metrics including volumes, throughput, report turnaround time, technologist coverage, and quality indicators

Leads workflow optimization to support timely patient care and efficient clinic flow

Develops and implements quality improvement and technologist competency programs

Regulatory, Accreditation & Safety

Ensures adherence to MQSA standards for mammography, including documentation, audits, and inspector coordination

Maintains compliance with Bureau of Radiation Control licensing and site inspections

Conducts quarterly site and safety audits, maintaining >98% compliance

Financial & Business Management

Oversees imaging financial performance, including revenue cycle elements, cost containment, supply management, and staffing models

Partners with coding/billing teams to reduce denials and optimize reimbursement

Tracks modality utilization and supports business decisions for expansion or adjustment

Leadership & Staff Development

Recruits, trains, and develops high-performing imaging technologists and lead technologists

Ensures staffing models support access, quality, and operational efficiency

Creates professional development pathways for imaging staff and supports leadership succession

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of radiology or diagnostic imaging operations leadership experience

Experience managing multiple clinical or imaging sites

Demonstrated ability to manage workflow, performance metrics, and regulatory compliance

Demonstrated solid communication, change leadership, and partnership-building skills

Ability to travel across markets up to 25%

Driver's License and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

ARRT, RDMS, R.T., or related clinical imaging background (preferred but not required)

Experience with Epic Radiant, PACS/RIS platforms

Understanding of value-based care and diagnostic services integration

Knowledge of ICD-10/CPT coding for imaging services

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
