Position is responsible for overseeing all of the capital construction functions in the Engineering section and managing resources to ensure the development and delivery of transportation systems throughout Marion County. This position exercises engineering expertise while providing professional knowledge pertaining to the critical operational functions in the Department. Helps to establish and/or ensure policies and procedures for the Department are adhered to in an effective manner. Independent judgement is regularly utilized when there are no available policies and procedures and errors in judgment may cause inconsistencies and inconveniences.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering Technology/Management/Engineering and ten (10) years of experience in engineering or construction related field OR fifteen (15) years of proven professional experience in construction/engineering supervisory and/or management role. Requires knowledge of recent developments, current literature, and sources of information regarding transportation engineering. Must have broad experience with a PC operating Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Preferred Job Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and fifteen (15) years of experience in managing and/or overseeing the construction of roadways, storm water, and bridges and licensed as a Professional Engineer in Indiana.Certifications with USACE, ACI, APWA, INDOT, EDEM, NHSI, OSHA preferred.
