The Administrative Support Anatomic Pathology supports pathologists and pathology department as part of the administrative support team. Registers and accessions pathology consult cases in the electronic medical record (EMR). Facilitates movement of case material and legal documents for pathology review or consultation. Assists pathologists with documentation of report attributes.
Job Duties And Responsibilities:
Physical And Sensory Requirements:
Sitting up to 7 hours per day in 2 - hour increments. Standing up to 2 hours per day in 2 - hour increments. Walking up to 1 hour per day in 10 - minute increments. Use of hands and fingers to use computer keyboard and telephone and sort and file reports. Frequent handing of papers and glass slides. Lifting occasionally up to 10 pounds. Carrying occasionally up to 10 pounds. Occasional stooping/bending. Reaches above shoulder level to retrieve case materials. Hearing normal conversation. Normal vision with ability to read computer screen.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Training And Experience:
Knowledge of medical and pathology terminology preferred.
