This position provides direction and supervision to a large group (ten or more) of clerical employees, including selection, counseling, scheduling, and distributing workload. Employees in this class are considered experts within the area of assignment and provide assistance to both subordinates and other staff.
Responsibilities include ensuring all staff are properly trained, establishing departmental goals and objectives, developing policies and procedures, establishing priorities within the unit supervised, providing input to the departmental budget process, resolving work problems, reviewing work of subordinates and productivity reports, and providing operational and administrative coordination in support of physicians and clinical leadership.
Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED. Licensure or certification is not required. Professional experience requirements include four (4) years of clerical or administrative experience. If a Bachelor's degree is held, two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience is required. If an Associate's degree is held, three (3) years of clerical or administrative experience is required.
