Academic Support Assistant

Reporting to the MSW Program Director, the Academic Support Assistant serves as the first administrative point of contact for full-time and adjunct faculty affiliated with two of the School's Fields-of-Practice (Health & Mental Health; Children, Youth & Families). The Academic Support Assistant provides outstanding customer support by updating faculty profiles on the School's website, providing support with access to BC and SSW services and facilities (e.g. Canvas, library), assisting with syllabi (APA standardization) and classroom material, and access to office supplies. Academic Support Assistant provides support to school-wide events such as new student orientation, graduation ceremony, and thematic conferences. The Academic Support Assistant may provide day-to-day supervision to other staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Faculty Support (80%): First administrative point of contact for full-time and part-time faculty affiliated with two of the School's concentrations (Health & Mental Health and Children, Youth & Families). Updating faculty profiles on the School's website. Provided support with access to BC and SSW services and facilities (Canvas, library). Assists with syllabi (APA standardization) and classroom material. Orders office supplies.
  • Supervision (10%): Supervises student employees.
  • Event Support (10%): The Academic Support Assistant provides support to school-wide events such as new student orientation, graduation ceremony, and thematic conferences.

Some light lifting required.

Some evening and early morning work may be required, but not on a regular basis.

This position is full-time. Office hours are Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.

Hiring Range: $22.06/hr to $27.58/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience required, experience within the higher education setting preferred* Supervisory experience preferred.
