UPMC East Food Service Attendant

UPMC East is hiring a full time food service attendant to support the dietary and cafeteria department!

This position will work varied shifts with rotating weekends/holidays. Shift times are 6am-2:30pm; 8am-4pm; 9am-5:30pm.

Purpose: Responsible for the timely assembly, final preparation and service of nutritionally-appropriate and attractive meals. Practices appropriate food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of job. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills on a consistent basis. Responsibilities include:

Assuring the necessary food and service equipment / utensils are secured for assigned area prior to meal service.
Adhering to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
Inventorying and stocking bulk supplies, following established procedures and designated timeframes.
Serving patient meal trays using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification.
Bussing tables and sanitizing tables and chairs.
Delivering meals to residents' rooms when requested.
Setting tables for the following meal according to the food service guidelines manual.
Assembling and serving meals according to diet orders, menus and patient / guest specific requirements.
Maintaining food safety and quality as mandated by PA department of health/Allegheny County health department/PA department of welfare (where applicable).
Adhering to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers.
Performing sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.

Work permit required if under 18 years old.
