HR Coordinator

Creates and maintains human resources (HR) records, coordinates logistics for one or many HR functions, disseminates HR communications, and processes various HR specific transactions to ensure compliance with established rules and regulations.

  • Creates and maintains various HR specific reports, databases, and/or records to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and legal rules and regulations.
  • Enters, reviews, and processes HR transactions according to established policies and procedures.
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for recruitment processes, onboarding activities, payroll functions, and/or other HR related activities.
  • Serves as a point of contact to employees, managers, and internal and external stakeholders. Responds to inquiries and escalates more complex issues to the appropriate authorities.
  • Audits and tracks compliance for various HR functions such as performance evaluations, onboarding, off boarding, criminal background checks, and credentialing.
  • Assists with the dissemination of HR related communications to various audiences under the direction of leadership.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and liaison to UWL management on recruitment best practices and disseminates applicable policies and procedures.
  • Processes lifecycle recruitment transactions in various systems to ensure accurate and timely entry of necessary information as required by established rules and regulations.
  • Assists with gathering supporting documentation for UWL Sponsored Foreign National Faculty.
  • Act as a backup for the Front Desk Assistant when unable to cover (i.e., sick leave, vacation day, lunch breaks).

Compensation: $42,800 / year

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. The diploma requirement may be substituted for at least two years of full-time relevant professional experience.
  • At least one year of office/clerical work experience.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively in face-to-face, oral, written, and electronic forms.
  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion and good judgment regarding confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills with an attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of software including Microsoft Office Suite, email, and electronic calendars or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Office management experience.
  • Experience working in a human resources office or function.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state human resources statutes, rules, procedures and practices.
  • Experience working in higher education or public sector organizations.
  • Experience working in Human Resources Systems, specifically Workday.
