The Advising and Academic Services Coordinator works closely with the TRIO grant project participants to develop and implement individualized academic plans. This staff member monitors students' academic progress through graduation, provides guidance on course requirements, assigns tutoring to be conducted at university tutoring centers, and provides information and advice regarding financial literacy. The Advising and Academic Services Coordinator assists the director in recruiting and selecting participants who meet eligibility requirements and follows data collection requirements for the Annual Performance Report (APR).
Core Responsibilities
• Experience counseling, advising, or providing academic support services to students who have a variety of academic majors. • Familiarity with federal grants or TRIO programs.
• Master's degree in education, counseling, psychology, vocational rehabilitation, or a related academic discipline from a regionally accredited institution. • Experience working with students with disabilities in an academic setting.
