 
                                                
                                            Under the direction of the Academic Commons Director, this frontline position interacts directly with the patrons of the UWS Library providing excellent service, including policy communication and reference help. This position is also responsible for the maintenance and processing of library materials and resources; processing interlibrary loan requests and working with the interlibrary loan team; working with Student Library Assistants; assisting with UWS Library outreach and communications; and maintaining up-to-date schedules, textbook lists, and related resources including LibGuides.
This is a temporary position to commence mid-November 2025-January 2026.
Provide excellent customer service through interactions via circulation services, interlibrary loan, and reference interactions. Perform the required steps and procedures to connect library patrons with materials requested through the interlibrary loan system. Creates and updates records in a variety of online systems. Oversees the library circulation desk, including making decisions about policy interpretations as needed, process credit/cash payments made to the library, and directing student workers in shift tasks. Processes new materials and making any needed repairs to existing items. Other projects and tasks as assigned.

Required: Education & Training HS diploma or some college. Experience Demonstrated written, oral, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Proven technological proficiency. Previous experience providing outstanding customer service. Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of resource sharing technologies. Knowledge of database applications. Knowledge of interlibrary loan processes and procedures. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, faculty, and other library users.
Preferred: Education & Training Bachelor's degree, interest in library science preferred. Experience Experience in academic libraries. Experience in resource sharing/interlibrary loan. 1-2 years' experience in library circulation or public services.
