The Student Assistant will support the FDOT Peer-to-Peer Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Program by engaging students on campus and assisting with outreach activities. This role provides hands-on experience in program coordination, student engagement, and safety education initiatives.
• Plan and participate in campus outreach events, including tabling and student organization presentations.
• Distribute educational materials and promote pedestrian and bicycle safety messages.
• Recruit and support student ambassadors for safety programs.
• Assist with preparation of outreach materials and event logistics.
• Communicate with student groups to schedule activities and maintain outreach records.
• Support program documentation, survey collection, and basic data organization.
• Assist with coordinating outreach activities occurring at universities throughout Florida (no travel required).
• Current undergraduate student at USF.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable engaging with diverse student groups.
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Prior experience in student organizations, peer mentoring, customer service, or campus events is a plus.
• Availability to work on campus during Summer 2026.
Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule.
