Marketing And Communications Manager
Reporting to the Manager, Business Development and Operations of the Career Centre, the incumbent designs, develops and implements marketing strategies, communication and recruiting initiatives for the Career Centre and organizes all its programs and events to enhance Telfer students' career management skills and employment. Generates web content, conceptualizes and implements communications and marketing plans to project a positive image, promote the brand and increase the visibility of the sector.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic planning: Define, develop, implement and control the marketing and communication strategies in the short, medium and long term to enhance the visibility of the programs and services of the Career Centre and will result in increased business from recruiting organizations contributing to the overall success of Telfer students achieving positions in their field of study. Design and implement a performance measurement system to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Promotion: Promote the Career Centre, its events, and programs to target audiences to maximize outreach and participation of students and employers. To this end, conceptualize and develop promotional material, maintain strong relationships with key contacts creating significant employment opportunities for Telfer students and alumni in line with the brand of the Telfer School of Management.
- Marketing and communications: Develop and execute an annual communication plan that supports the sector's communications needs for various internal and external target audiences. To this end, write content for reports, news bulletins, brochures, web, social media and coordinate translation. Perform needs and cost/benefit analyses of proposed communications and marketing plans to support the annual budget planning of the sector and ensure that related activities comply with budget limits.
- Project management: Plan and manage communication projects. Define the scope of the project, determines its steps, monitor relevant progress, make adjustments throughout the process and ensure efficient communication between stakeholders while reflecting a positive professional image of the Telfer School of Management.
What you will bring:
- Knowledge of marketing and communications principles normally acquired through a university degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role
- The ability to generate new business and establish strong relationships with different organizations
- Experience managing projects
- Experience in developing and implementing a communications plan
- Advanced knowledge of computer systems and software including graphic design (for example, photoshop, etc.) and web applications, spreadsheets, databases, Internet and e-mail
- Experience giving presentations to large groups in both official languages
- Strong public relations, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience in event planning and organization
- Ability to handle competing priorities
- Ability and availability to occasionally work outside of normal office hours to participate in various events and activities
- Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written)
