Why Your Role Matters:
The Specialist – Security Engineering is a key position in the Cyber Security Engineering team responsible for the management and support of cyber security services across multiple environments including on premises, public, and hybrid cloud. This role requires knowledge and hands-on experience in implementing and automating security controls including but not limited web application firewalls (WAF), API gateways, and cloud-native security services. The candidate should be proficient in integrating these controls into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, and orchestrating security workflows across cloud platforms including AWS and Azure. The role will be responsible for protecting the Universities infrastructure, network, and applications working closely with our MSSP's, technology partners, and internal teams to ensure swift and effective responses to emerging threats.
The role reports to the Manager, Security Engineering and has no direct reports.
