Job Summary

Serves as special assistant and strategic advisor to the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention & Healthcare Access (BCDPHA Well-Ahead) Leadership and Bureau Director. Manages multiple strategic business projects to achieve organizational objectives, fostering cross-functional collaboration with operations, technology, finance, compliance, human resources, etc. Manages projects and milestones, reporting up and across the organization as needed. Consults with the leadership to create the department's business strategic plan. Supports leadership to ensure the strategic vision is articulated and shared effectively. Understands and anticipates the key deliverables and proactively planning and supporting those needs to ensure early, high-quality development and implementation. Ensures that all of the projects for BCDPHA leadership team are managed in a single place, are updated on a weekly basis, and are aligned with the priorities of the OPH and LA Department of Health. Supports BCDPHA leadership by providing accurate updates on projects and initiatives, including their results and challenges, on a weekly and ad-hoc basis. Tracks and helps drive completion of key deliverables and follow up on outstanding items to support strategic planning. Stays abreast of the latest business processes and advancements to automate and modernize systems. Conducts meetings and presentations to share findings. Documents and communicates results of the team's efforts. Gathers critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reports. Develops standard BCDPHA operating procedures and ensures compliance with Bureau policies and legal guidelines. Prepares reports, trainings, presentations, dashboards and data as needed. Facilitates communication between different departments within the organization. Assists with event planning and coordination as needed. Handles confidential information with discretion. Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience. Minimum 3 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field. Minimum 1 year professional experience with project or program support. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills; effective organizational and time management skills. Great attention to detail and follow up. Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities. Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Desired: Advanced degree. Minimum 4 years professional experience performing administrative functions within an office environment or health care field. Minimum 2 years professional experience with project or program support. Minimum 1 year professional experience working with relevant LDH internal systems. Relevant industry certifications.
