The Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services directs and enforces departmental compliance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations while advancing the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes. This position oversees the planning and implementation of compliance education for coaches, staff, and student-athletes, and ensures institutional control through effective monitoring, reporting, and collaboration with campus partners.

You Will:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the NCAA compliance program, including recruiting, financial aid, amateurism, playing/practice seasons, rules interpretations, and violation reporting; ensure institutional control and required reporting (e.g., APR, Sport Sponsorship, Graduation Success Rate, Federal Graduation Rate).
  • Eligibility Management
    • Proactively oversee and administer the processes for initial, continuing, and transfer eligibility, ensuring timely certification in compliance with NCAA and institutional standards.
    • Coordinate with the NCAA Eligibility Center, Admissions, and other relevant departments to certify eligibility for incoming, continuing, and transferring student-athletes.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to eligibility determinations and communications.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive NCAA rules education for coaches, student-athletes, and staff; interpret and communicate new legislation and policy updates.
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of reported NCAA, University, or Conference rules violations related to intercollegiate athletics.
  • Participate in compliance audits and assessments to ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
  • Support oversight of Title IX compliance and gender equity initiatives within the athletics department.
  • Administer athletic scholarships in coordination with Financial Aid and Admissions; ensure compliance and accuracy of NCAA reporting.
  • Maintain and update the student-Athlete Handbook and departmental compliance manuals; oversee integration and enforcement of the NCAA Board of Governors' policy on campus sexual violence.
  • Serve as liaison to campus offices, including Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, and Residential Life, to support academic initiatives, eligibility, housing, retention, and graduation; assist with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) initiatives and programming.
  • Supervise compliance staff and manage compliance and institutional software systems, including Teamworks, NCAA Compliance Assistant, Banner, and Argos.
  • Work with key University stakeholders to ensure that necessary reports for NCAA Reclassification are completed.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Director or Deputy Director of Athletics.

You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Teamworks and NCAA apps including but not limited to CA, Compliance Forms, Academic Portal, Transfer Portal, RSRO, LSDBi, and Eligibility Center.
  • Skills needed include planning, organizing, monitoring, evaluating, and communicating effectively with a high degree of integrity.
