The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Associate Vice President for Advancement Services. This senior position is responsible for overseeing the core operational, technical, and data-driven functions that support the university's comprehensive advancement efforts. The AVP provides leadership across Advancement Information Technology, Donor Relations, Finance, Prospect Research, and Gift Services.
The AVP will champion service excellence, data integrity, compliance, and strategic innovation across all advancement operations. Since its inception in 1874, the University of Nevada has grown at a dynamic and record-setting rate across student enrollment, National Merit scholars, student diversity, and faculty achievements. The University's most recent comprehensive campaign, Building What Comes Next: The Campaign for the New Nevada, concluded in March 2022 and raised more than $502.8 million, positioning the University to address the world's grand challenges.
As a member of the Advancement Executive Leadership Team, the AVP plays a key role in executing the Foundation’s strategic plan and supporting the university’s goals as a top-tier public research institution with aspirations toward AAU membership. This role collaborates closely with the Vice President for Advancement and senior campus partners to ensure Advancement Services aligns with institutional priorities and UNR’s mission.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and seven (7) years of managerial and/or related professional work experience or Master’s Degree five (5) years of managerial and/or related professional work experience. Candidates should demonstrate progressively responsible leadership experience in fundraising and operational or administrative management. Experience in a senior-level accounting, finance, budget management, or investment role is essential. A strong understanding of fundraising strategies, principles, and current trends including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, and prospect research or related experience.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
