The Assistant Director of Career & Life Design reports to the Director of Career and Life Design as a key member of the UNLV Career Services and Workforce Development unit in UNLV Academic Affairs. This position is an integral part of a university-wide CS&WD hub that is deploying a networked "career everywhere" model to advance the career readiness and career mobility for all UNLV students and alumni through their lifecycle.
The Assistant Director leads and manages a growing team of full-time Career and Life Design Specialists (CLDS), graduate assistants, and student workers in UNLV Career Services. These are the unit's primary student-facing representatives who provide career coaching, career and professional development programming, and workshops, events, and activities that support student career success.
Essential duties for the Assistant Director include:

This position shall collaborate with the Executive Director to set annual goals that align with Top Tier initiatives and SVPAA mission and identify and track core metrics to assess success. Like all AA leaders, this position plays a crucial role in enrollment growth, removing barriers to student success, ensuring inclusive and equitable access to resources, working to eliminate achievement gaps, and providing outstanding services and support to students across the lifecycle. By addressing systemic obstacles and implementing strategic services, programs, and support, this position will meaningfully contribute to the institution's commitment to expand access, grow enrollment, and promote career-ready student success that leads to timely graduation.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 3-5 years progressively responsible experience in higher education: career services, college recruiting, consulting, training and development role; and 1-3 years of supervisory experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); and 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in higher education: career services, college recruiting, consulting, training and development role; and 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
