The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Administrative Assistant 2, (Parking), Administrative Services [R0149190].

This position will primarily provide customer service, clerical and front counter support for the Parking & Transportation Services Office. The incumbent will assist in front desk operations, back office operations, and the cashier station for the Parking & Transportation Services Office. Duties include but are not limited to: serve as the front desk receptionist, process citation payments, parking permits sales and customer service. This position requires confidentiality and discretion.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and in a welcoming manner with students, faculty, and the general public over email, in person and on the phone. In addition to strong customer service skills, this person will complete administrative projects in a timely, organized, and consistent manner.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Excellent customer service skills, computer literate, must be able to multitask, proficient typing skills, knowledge of the phonetic alphabet, ability to use two-way radios.

Grade 25, Step 1, salary $42,636.96. In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code 284.170, initial appointments to classified positions typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade. A "Step" refers to the specific rate of pay within a grade, as determined by the Division of Human Resources.
