The detailed job description includes applying broad clinical and administrative knowledge to align departmental strategy with health system goals and patient outcomes, optimizing bed utilization and throughput across campuses through strategy development and implementation, collaborating with clinical teams to streamline the admission, discharge, and transfer process and support operational efficiency, collaborating with patients, family, nurses, physicians, logistics, house supervisors, and the leadership team to ensure streamlined processes and support operational efficiency, managing facilities and physical resources to support effective patient care and reduce waste, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to drive organizational success and improve patient outcomes, working in conjunction with the leadership team to support and align budget management, in alignment with health system priorities, and identifying cost-saving opportunities, overseeing policy implementation and regulatory reporting for assigned departments, participating in at least one shared leadership committee outside of departmental shared leadership, developing and communicating strategic and operational goals for admission, discharge, and transfer services, ensuring alignment with regulatory and performance improvement standards, maintaining clinical competencies to provide direct patient care as necessary, and may complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Required qualifications include Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN, and two (2) years of RN experience. Preferred qualifications include Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, experience in a hospital setting, and additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Physical demands include ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs, routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses, and rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather.
