Provide physical therapy services to individuals who have impairments, functional limitations, or changes in physical function and health status, resulting from injury, disease, or other causes with the goal of improving functional outcomes. Provide education to other medical professionals and provide prevention and wellness services including screenings and health promotions.
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Must have temporary or permanent Mississippi Physical Therapist License prior to start or no later than 3 business days after start for new graduates.
Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical dysfunctions. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and/or kinesiology. Skill in performing manual physical therapy treatment programs. Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. Ability to instruct and motivate patients. Ability to safely lift and physically manipulate patients.
Responsibilities:
Physical and Environmental Demands: Requires occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, frequent crouching/stooping, frequent kneeling, frequent pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, occasional sitting, constant standing, frequent twisting, and constant walking.
