The incumbent directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for Imaging services at satellite location, and oversees all Imaging operations. Moreover, the Director, Imaging services recommends innovations in the practice and function of satellite Imaging to the AVP of Imaging Services and carries out mutually agreed upon programs. This employee also maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effectiveness. The Director reports to the AVP of Imaging Services and is ultimately responsible for the entire operation of the assigned Radiology Department.
Primary duties and responsibilities include fiscal planning, personnel management, budget and audits, space planning and management, inventory control, general administration, assisting or acting on behalf of the Medical Directors in dealing with physician issues, and more.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include knowledge of current imaging technology practice, ability to plan, direct, and coordinate the work of professional and technical staff, capability to exercise judgment and discretion in devising, installing and interpreting rules, regulations, policies or procedures, skillful to express ideas and information clearly, concisely, verbally and writing, and aptitude to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Education requirements include a Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience, and a Master's degree preferred. Work experience requirements include five years of supervisory experience required and 10 years technical experience.
